Rio makes sure that the coach drivers know that they are on their own after refusing to help us in battle. After everyone wakes up it becomes obvious that by now the sun should have risen. 11 days until High Harvest. We begin to travel. The moon has set and it is very dark. Rio hops of the coach when we pass a grove of oak trees and casts 'Speak with Plants'. The trees are disturbed that winter has come early. They say the earth tells of winter and it shouldn't be. Rio catches up to the coach and the group continues. As we come around a corner there are some downed trees across the road and the coach must come to a screeching halt. A trap! UNDEAD!!

MELEE

Ghasts, Ghouls and Zombies.... All zombies turned by Tristana. Most of group is paralyzed during the battle including Rio who used a charge of the 'Staff of the Woodlands' to animate one of the nearby trees just before he was incapacitated. It gets 2 attacks per round, 4-24 points of damage each as if it were the largest treant. (Gotta remember this!) The tree crushes many of the undead creatures and saves the day. Rio uses another charge to restore the other knocked down tree after he recovers and the battle is over. Tristana then casts some healing spells on the injured party members and we travel on.

Rio changes form to heal his wounds. He's now a large German Shepherd again. We enter the city. Guard tells of mage wars. Takes us to Black Staff Tower home of the ArchMage of Waterdeep. We meet and he asks about the book we're carrying. The diary detailing the upcoming battle at high harvest tide. We speak with the mage and then go to the Singing Sword tavern to meet an information broker who, for a price, shows the group a document detailing Chirris death (A DAY BEFORE IT HAPPENED) that was written in Angstroms hand. It speaks of killing all of the OtherWorlders. High Harvest Tide is now 12 days away. We have several things to do. Deliver the book, find out about Elminsters disappearance.
