Characters: DM & Salaisee, Elendil & Jolley, Billi

Salaisee casts Cure Light Wounds on Billi. Elendil does the same for Jolley. The group eats heartily having come this late into the day without lunch. We setup the campsite near the entrance and build a good fire. We set Jolley's torch between some rocks for an additional light source other than the fire.

We hear booted feet coming from the southwest. Undead Silver Knights!!

MELEE

Elendil turns the first three to dust (but uses his second re-roll of the day). One attacks Salaisee, one attacks Jolley. The third attacks Jolley as well. Salaisee turns them to dust.

A green globe of light floats within fifteen feet of camp and issues forth the voice of the crone asking for parley. If we will promise to leave her and her possessions alone, she will return our stuff, tells us of the evil to the southwest, and promises not to bother us anymore.

We agree and she walks into the light and returns Billi's backpack. She no longer appears as the human crone, but shows herself to be a green hag though she does still claim to be a druid. She tells us of a large undead creature that stands at least fifteen feet tall. It lives to the southwest and works with bandits led by a short lizard like humanoid. These bandits bring it dead monsters to be raised as undead.

She tells us to travel to the southwest until we spy the giant hand of the fallen statue of Talos. The creature's lair is underground. When we have no further questions, she leaves.

Salaisee casts Cure Light Wounds on Jolley. This night all watches are quiet.

In the morning, after devotions, Elendil casts Restoration on Billi. Salaisee casts two Mend spells to fix the cut saddle straps.

18th Mirtul

We create strategies for our attack this morning. Salaisee will cast Disrupting Weapon on Jolley's greatsword. Elendil will cast Greater Magic Weapon on his quarter staff.

Several hundred feet to the southwest, we find the hand the green hag mentioned. There is a 20' wide opening with stairs descending down.

Elendil gets out the lantern and makes gets it ready before casting Greater Magic Weapon on his staff. Jolley hands his Continual Flame Torch to Billi.

We move down the stairs. They end approximately 100' down in an alcove with a set of massive iron doors. When Billi advances to check the door he avoids falling into the pit trap that opens in front of them. Before attempting the doors again, the group discovers and investigates four levers on the northeast wall of the alcove. Above each lever is a painted symbol: flame, lightning, screaming face, and a spike. Elendil lowers the lever beneath the spike and when Billi tests the floor before the doors, the trap no longer springs open. We attempt to lower the other three levers but only the first two (flame and lightning) will go down . The fourth (a screaming face) will not budge.

Salaisee casts Disrupting Weapon and Bulls Strength on Jolley. Elendil casts Bulls Strength on himself and Bless for the group. He also casts Protection from Evil on Billi.

Elendil pushes open the doors and a sonic blast from the right deafens & damages leaving ears and heads ringing from the audible impact. The doors open into a huge triangular room. At the far southern wall is a ten foot high triangular platform with stairs climbing to it on the east and west. Sitting atop the platform is a enormous stone cauldron almost ten feet in diameter. The only light in the room, a sickly red glow, seems to come from within the cauldron. Arranded between the platform and the door are several monsters, all in various states of decay.

Standing on the platform behind the cauldron is the horrific undead creature the crone warned us of. Standing at least fifteen feet tall, it resembles an enormous undead goblin, and also as she told us, we can see a human woman trapped within its rib cage.

MELEE

Salaisee casts Holy Smite on the big guy. Success! Jolley charges an otyugh and destroys it with the Disruption on his weapon. Elendil destroys the other with Searing Light.

The undead spiders attack Jolley. Salaisee casts another Holy Smite but it fails to blind him this time. Billi becomes invisible. Elendil turns some of the zombies to dust.

Elendil and Jolley charge the platform while Salaisee turns the rest of the undead to dust. Jolley reaches big nasty and hits. Elendil, just seconds behind from the other side, reaches big nasty and hits with a massive killing blow.

The spirit of Shaunnra Stillhand is released.

Salaisee casts Cure Serious Wounds on Billi and Cure Light Wounds on herself. Elendil casts Cure Light Wounds on himself and Cure Moderate Wounds on Jolley.

[Player note: Billi, Elendil & Jolley all receive 3400 XP and go up to 9th level.]

We get back to our campsite. The horses are undisturbed. We spend a quiet afternoon. Dinner is more rations but the druid crone brings us a bowl of eels, killed and skinned. Elendil casts Detect Poison but finds none. Billi cooks up the eels and they are quite tasty.

We spend the night so Salaisee can cast Wall of Stone over the entrance to the large cauldron room. Salaisee's watch is quiet. On Elendil's watch two wargs attack the horses. Handsome is badly wounded but the wargs are killed. Salaisee casts Cure Light Wounds on Handsome and he returns to his usual Handsome self.

Third watch is quiet.
